Aaron Monu
Aaron Monu is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist based in Atlanta, GA, whose practice examines the relationship between spirituality, memory, and the natural world. His work investigates how these forces shape identity within both physical environments and psychological spaces. Through meditative compositions spanning painting and three-dimensional forms, Monu explores humanity's dual existence — anchored in material reality yet reaching towards the ineffable.
Working predominantly in abstraction, Monu builds layered surfaces that reference natural elements while maintaining their abstract sensibility. His paintings invite quiet contemplation, encouraging viewers to connect with their own interior landscapes. The three-dimensional works complement this practice, examining themes of resilience and the rituals that sustain us.
Monu's work has been featured in exhibitions throughout Atlanta, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia. His current self-curated solo exhibition, A Sense of Home in a Foreign Place, further develops these investigations through a multidisciplinary approach and immersive installation . His work is held in private collections across the United States and internationally.
