Client Development Manager – East Coast, MRTW & MTM
Hermès of Paris
Dear Hermès Hiring Team,
With over a decade of experience developing client relationships across the east coast within the Made-to-Measure, Hospitality, and Art industries; I’ve experienced the power of honoring heritage while becoming a practitioner of innovation and creativity in my own right. Campaigns like 'When Kelly Came to Town' and the house's ongoing collaboration with living artists speak to a creative confidence that few brands at this level possess. For 189 years, Hermès has refused to compromise on quality while embracing innovation; and that is one of the reasons I am excited to apply to the Client Development Manager - East Coast, MRTW & MTM position.
My Made-to-Measure experience has given me a deep familiarity with and love for the craft. I have advised clients on fully canvased, hand-constructed garments in fabrics ranging from the finest wools to vicuña; serving as a guide through fabric origin, composition, construction, and the subtler questions of style and occasion. I have worked alongside Master Tailors at every stage in my career, managing orders from consultation through delivery and serving as an ambassador to the factory, brand, and client. This experience helped me develop an attention to detail and sense of organization that created exemplary client experiences. At Billy Reid, I led in-store MTM staff trainings and workshops across New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Washington, DC. These training combined with KPI analysis resulted in upwards of a 40% increase in profit. During my time with Musika Frère, I supported the production of the Winter 2018 fashion show and collection, trunk shows with luxury partners nationally, and multiple MRTW activations - ensuring client experiences were experienced at the highest level.
I embody a bespoke approach to client development and my methodology owes as much to hospitality as it does to tailoring. Time in fine dining and wine service taught me to anticipate what a client needs before they need it and offer something they could not find elsewhere. I’ve had the opportunity to host clients at Art Basel, supercar unveilings, art exhibition openings, and other luxury events. Through my involvement with the non-profit, The Roots Fund, I have spent two years identifying and hosting guests at Pebble Beach Food and Wine as well as their annual charity auction. I draw on my network across art, design, and hospitality to creatively offer clients a depth of experience that extends well beyond the fitting room.
Throughout my career I’ve had to be a self-starter and work independently at times, however, I have always been proficient working in close alignment with leadership to integrate client development with broader organizational strategy. My career with NINE dot ARTS was a prime example of this - I collaborated with the Founder, COO, and Marketing team on regional go-to-market execution; mirroring the partnership this role requires with the Regional VP and Merchandising team. Competitor analysis has been central to my practice as well: at Musika Frère, a close study of the Madison Avenue landscape - from Brunello Cucinelli and Loro Piana to Tom Ford and Ralph Lauren - shaped our sales strategy. Those experiences reinforced a principle that has followed me throughout my career: the strongest client relationships are built when individual service is supported by thoughtful strategy, collaboration, and a clear understanding of the broader market.
I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my background in Made-to-Measure, strategic client development, and cross-disciplinary relationship building can contribute to the continued success of Hermès. It would be a privilege to help cultivate the lasting client relationships that have defined the Maison for generations while contributing my own perspective on hospitality, craftsmanship, and culture.
With appreciation,

About “Un Homme et Sa Monture (Study)”
This work is an abstract interpretation of a detail from Jacques-Louis David's The Intervention of the Sabine Women (1799), focusing on the young attendant and horse positioned at the edge of the composition.
Rather than depicting the central conflict, I was drawn to a quieter moment that speaks to discipline, stewardship, and the relationship between human intention and cultivated strength. Removed from the larger narrative, these figures become less about war and more about responsibility: the act of guiding rather than controlling.
In creating this piece, I explored the tension between precision and intuition. Layers of of cloud-like strokes obscure and simultaneously reveal the original image, asking the viewer to slow down and discover form through observation rather than immediacy. It is an approach that mirrors my appreciation for craftsmanship: the belief that lasting value is created through patience, refinement, and attention to detail.
The title, Un Homme et Sa Monture ("A Man and His Mount"), reflects a relationship built on trust rather than dominance. For me, it represents the quiet partnership between maker and material, heritage and innovation, and stewardship of heritage that Hermès represents.
Thank you for your consideration. If you believe me to be a worthy candidate for the role, please either email me at aaron@artmonu.studio or follow the link below to schedule an interview. I look forward to the opportunity to present my experience in real time.
